About PCGS CoinFacts

PCGS CoinFacts is the Internet Encyclopedia of United States Coins. The original CoinFacts site was created in 1999 by numismatic expert and author Ron Guth and it quickly became one of the most popular numismatic-related websites. The CoinFacts website featured a complete listing of all U.S. coins, including regular issue coins, colonials, patterns, commemoratives, territorial gold, errors, proof and mint sets, Confederate, and bullion coins. Individual pages contained technical information, high-quality images, auction prices realized, variety information, anecdotal notes, etc. CoinFacts was built for use by collectors at all levels, from beginner to advanced.

In 2004, Collectors Universe, the parent company of Professional Coin Grading Service, purchased CoinFacts and Mr. Guth became their Director of Numismatic Research. In the past year (2008-2009), PCGS began a complete overhaul of the site, transforming it into a dynamic delivery system for PCGS Population Report data, Auction Prices Realized, and the PCGS Price Guide. With the power of PCGS and the Collectors Universe Information Technology team behind the PCGS CoinFacts website, data is now updated whenever any changes occur in the data generated by PCGS. This means that collectors now have access to the most complete and up-to-date information anywhere on the internet.

Other features on the PCGS CoinFacts website include survival rate information, relative rarity ratings, Condition Census, expanded PCGS Price Guide, and coin-specific notes and anecdotes from experts in all areas of numismatics.

PCGS CoinFacts is updated daily by numismatic experts to ensure you have the most current information for buying and selling U.S. coins.
