Ron Guth: In 1999, the United States Mint began an ambitious program to create a special Quarter Dollar for each of the fifty states, to be released in groups of five coins each year until the series is completed in 2008. The public's reaction to this program has been overwhelmingly positive and millions of new coin collectors have been created.
