Jaime Hernandez:

All Proof Braided Hair Cents are very rare and the 1846 is no exception. Although a mintage of about 22 is listed far fewer have been confirmed. There is possibly a handful or two known examples in all grades combined. So collectors should not be picky when trying to find this coin, as any example of this issue is a great coin to own.
