David Akers (1975/88): Generally considered a common date, but really quite scarce in high grade. Lower grade specimens, however, are readily obtainable. On some specimens the date is thinner and flatter than it is on others. On this variety, the lower arrowhead is also disconnected from the CA in AMERICA, while on the "heavy date" variety, the lower arrowhead touches CA. I think that the thin date variety is more rare, but I have not kept a close enough tally to be sure.
