David Akers (1975/88): The 1868 is probably the most common date of the 1860's. Nevertheless, the date can certainly be considered scarce and choice uncirculated specimens are very rare. Most of the uncs I have seen were only Unc-60 coins, and I can recall only a few that were MS-65 or better.
