Series: Patterns - PR
Judd 1602 is a copper version of a Morgan Half Dollar pattern. The obverse is nearly identical in every aspect to a regular Morgan Dollar, just in a smaller format. The reverse, on the other hand, is very different in the shape of the eagle and the placement of the legends around the bird. This is a fairly scarce pattern, with fewer than a dozen known. It is incredibly popular due to the tie-in with the Morgan Dollar. Most of the surviving examples are quite nice, measuring at least PR64 and with a couple of Gems thrown into the mix.
