David Akers: This is the second lowest mintage issue of the series with only 138,000 pieces struck. Not surprisingly, mint state specimens, particularly Choice and Very Choice ones, are very scarce, if not rare. Examples [in Gem condition] are definitely rare and very difficult to find...
Ron Guth:

The popularity of the 1915 Half Dollar is evident in the large population of certified examples. Despite being one of the rarer dates in the series, there are more PCGS-certified 1915 Half Dollars than any other date -- including the first-year-of-issue 1892. Not unexpectedly, most of the certified examples are circulated, as Mint State examples of the 1915 are just as scarce as most of the other dates in the series. Mint State 1915 Half Dollars are slightly morre rare than the 1914, but not as rare as the 1913. MS64 examples are the most plentiful, followed by MS63's. Gems are scarce, but they show up in the marketplace with relative frequency. MS66 and better examples are very rare, with just a small handful in MS66, one or two in MS66+, and none in MS67.

The strike quality of the 1915 Half Dollar is about 95% all there, with a trivial amount of weakness in the usual place -- the upper right corner of the shield on the reverse.
